Work & Play
So, your vacation is over and you’re back at work with piles of projects and you have a major case of humidity hair and you just can’t find anything to wear because it’s so unbearably hot outside. Sound familiar? Without a doubt, getting dressed for work during the hottest months of the year can be quite laborious (pun intended). Out of control curls notwithstanding, the extreme temperatures of the heat and humidity outside and the icy air conditioning inside present unique wardrobing challenges. But with a little thought and creativity, you can look just as pulled-together in July as you did in April. Cropped pants, full skirts and breezy tops in lightweight fabrics will keep you cool as the temperature soars. Keep an of-the-moment shrug on hand to ward off the AC chill.
But of course, all work and no play makes for a very dull summer. Your big vacation may be over, but you’ve still got plenty of summer parties and events to attend. Weekends are still packed with dates, pool parties and brunches. There may even be the occasional art gallery opening or cocktail party. Whatever the occasion, a girl’s got to have the perfect outfit, but that doesn’t mean that there’s always the cash flow for a completely new ensemble. Get extra mileage out of your work wear with a few accessory changes (hint: coral is the Reigning Queen this summer). Mix and match your summer work and play gear for a brand new look. You may not have a whole new wardrobe, but wearing things in different ways will make you feel like you do.
