Along with the warm weather comes an urge to experiment. I’m not talking about going into your kitchen and concocting something that your old high school science teacher would be proud of, though. I’m talking about with your look. Even if you are a creature of habit and refuse to color your locks because of commitment phobia, you have to admit that you look forward a temporary change, like tanning. There is always room for improvement in the way you look, in the way you present yourself. It may be a minor thing, such as changing your usual brown/black mascara to a colored one to bring out the color in your eyes. But even a small improvement like that needs to be experimented with first. I just don’t feel the need to go out and experiment in the wintertime. To me, the cold is a time where I can sit back and drink hot cocoa, not go out and be bold with my look. So with that theory in mind, I’ve put together a small list of things I just can’t resist this summer. They are things I’ve had fun experimenting with, and some I am yet to use. Either way, I have become a statistic of my own theory that along with the warm weather, comes the urge to experiment.

To follow the trend of experimenting this month, I switched over from my usual boring bar of soap to this one. Wow! What a difference. If you are used to the same old routine of lather and wash off quickly, you will be in for a surprise with this one. It has peppermint in it, which creates a tingly sensation that I adore, and little blue beads that exfoliate better than some scrubs I’ve tried. I love this…..definitely something I enjoyed experimenting with.
If the yellow packaging doesn’t get your attention, then maybe the tangy citrus scent will. This new lotion really appeals to me because of its scent, which is citrus and a little gingery, and the light texture. I will also admit that I am a huge fan of anything shimmery, so when I looked down at my arm a few minutes after application and saw it glowing and sparkling, I was sold. So perfect for the summer.
Yummy!! As soon as I opened this jar I knew this was soon to be a favorite. Let’s start off with its color: it’s a cool neon green scrub that really stands out among all my other scrubs in my shower. And the smell is heavenly. It smells tangy, salty, sweet, and exactly like the real thing. This is great for the end of a long day when you need to unwind. And it has so many less calories than a real margarita…experiment with this instead.
I mentioned before that some of you ladies reading this article are planning to tan this summer. While this may be true, it is becoming more and more popular to sunblock instead of soaking up rays. And that is smart. It’s less than ten dollars for a bottle of sunblock, and can be hundreds of dollars in the future for wrinkle creams that try and erase the damage done by the sun. Add it up and save some dough. Use this instead, you get the same color that you would in the sun and it’s really simple to do. Not to mention my love of the packaging, the same brown color that I am aiming for!
Along with all of the experimenting that you’re planning on doing, will come the mistakes. In the past you had a cotton ball soaked in makeup remover at hand whenever trying a new mascara or eyeshadow or liner. But now life is easier. With this tiny tube, you can undo anything smudged or just plain unflattering. This is a lifesaver during one of those rare beauty emergencies.
